The Notre Dame School delivers quality Catholic education to students in Santa Barbara, celebrating and serving parents in their role as primary educators. Centering love and joy of Jesus through Mary, we use transformative educational practices that help students uncover their God-given talents, teach reverence for all of Creation, and uphold a humble commitment to serving the community while honoring the dignity of every person.
To create a positive learning environment in which students develop strong personal faith and identity, where living the Gospel message inspires an appreciation for diversity in the world, compassion for those in need, and service to the community. An educational environment where respect and recognition of the unique personalities, learning styles, and backgrounds of our students allows them to achieve success, setting and meeting goals while tapping into their individual gifts and talents.
The Notre Dame School at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish is a Catholic preschool through 8th grade institution serving the diverse students of Santa Barbara and its surrounding communities. Acknowledging God’s presence in those around us, Notre Dame celebrates the unique gifts and talents of each individual, works in partnership with parents as primary educators of their children, and promotes peaceful, fair solutions to conflicts in a multi-level learning academic community. Notre Dame faculty and staff educate the whole child, nurturing the spiritual, academic, social, and physical development of students.
