Notre Dame School's religion curriculum includes preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Sacrament of Holy Communition within the 2nd grade for students who have been baptized. Students who are not Catholic in the 2nd grade are invited to learn alongside their classmates and witness the miracle of the Sacraments.
Students who join our community after 2nd grade and desire preparation for First Holy Communion participate in their daily religion classes and then prepare for their sacrament through additional classes. The Director of Religious Education at Our Lady of Sorrows works closely with the teachers to identify these students and then provides supplemental instruction to prepare them for sacraments. They participate in retreats and rehearsals alongside our 2nd grade class and receive their First Holy Communion with the community.
For students who join our community and are unbaptized who wish to join the Catholic Church, Notre Dame also partners with Our Lady of Sorrows to make this possible. More information about sacrament preparation through Our Lady of Sorrows can be found at this link or by emailing Craig Carroll, OLS Director of Religious Education, at [email protected]
